When starting out on cam, one of the first tasks is choosing your cam model name.

Your cam model name is your username, your identity, your image, your vibe, your personality, your creativity, your statement, your brand.

You should take care when choosing your cam model name. It is very important you get this right, as once this is set it can be hassle to change it.

Often changing your name means a complete new sign up and starting again from scratch.

So consider this very important element carefully and make sure you’re 100% happy with your name before you go live with it on cam.

How to choose a great name

Choosing your cam model name is an exciting early step in your journey to becoming a cam model.

It enables you to start defining your identity, brand and become the sexiest cam model alter-ego you ever wished to be!

Your cam model name is what you set as your username. It is also what you have your fans call you. Choose a format of first name and a surname, or chose one singular name.

While I can’t choose your name for you, I can give you some ideas of what to think about for choosing a great name.

Here is my list of ideas your cam model name could be inspired by:

  1. Your favourite colour or shade of colour.
  2. Your favourite country in the world.
  3. Your favourite city in the world.
  4. A place which is a memorable or magical place to you.
  5. A beach or desert you love.
  6. A sweet treat you love.
  7. A type of fabric you love.
  8. Something mystical or mythical.
  9. A name that relates to something you love about the earth, the sky, the sun, the heavens or the Universe.
  10. A name that relates to your astrological star sign.
  11. Your favourite female name in your culture or another culture you love.
  12. Your favourite cocktail or wine.
  13. Your favourite precious gem or metal.
  14. Your favourite flower, tree or plant.
  15. A scent you love, such as a perfume.
  16. A fairy or angel name.
  17. A bird of paradise name.
  18. A style of dance you love.
  19. A spiritual word that represents your vibe or persona.
  20. A name that relates to a sport or fitness type you’re into.
  21. A style of music you love.
  22. A type of car you love.
  23. A word that represents “beautiful,” “sexy,” “love,” “wild,” “goddess,” “divinity” or similar words in English or a foreign language.
  24. A physical trait you have that’s a stand-out feature, such as eye colour, chest size, butt appearance.
  25. A character trait you have that comes out naturally, or one you want to be known for as a trademark style, e.g. smily, sassy, bratty, kinky.
  26. Your heritage or accent that people would identify with, such as French, Asian, Brazilian, Native.
  27. Hints to do with your sexuality, kinks or sexual preferences, such as horny, fetish, goddess, slave, freaky.
  28. Titles such as Lady, Mistress, Queen, Madame, Princess.
  29. A name from a book or movie that has stuck with you.
  30. A name that makes you feel empowered because it represents something or someone that inspires you.

You’ll need to be surely sure you’re sure of your cam model name, before setting it as your username!

What not to do when choosing a cam model name

Don’t choose a name that somebody else is already using. Check Google under any proposed name you come up with. Also check on the site you’re signing up to that nobody else has the same name, or too similar. You can do this by popping the name into the search bar on the site.

Never choose your real name, or a name that’s too similar to your own. This is for your own privacy and safety.

Don’t choose a nickname that’s used by your friends or family. This is one sure way to get rumbled! Unless you want everybody in your personal circle knowing you cam, never be your personal nickname on cam.

Don’t choose a name that makes you feel ick. It may be stating the obvious. However a cam model name should be a name you’re proud to call yourself, not one that makes you cringe with embarrassment.

Never copy the exact name of a celebrity. Nobody likes copycats and it could get you into issues with copyright. Remain completely original.

Understand that your name will become ingrained on the web. Once you start working on cam, your url for any site you work on, along with any social media, will become links on the world wide web. So make sure the name is one you wish to keep for the long term, as those links are difficult to change if you change your mind on your name.

Now you’re on the right thought process for choosing your cam model name, write down a shortlist of a few you like.

Take a day or two to think about it, say your name to yourself in the mirror to see if it suits you and you feel good with it.

Want to know how to be the best you on cam? I’m here to help you make that happen!

Cam modelling is one of those professions where it’s success is dependent on the mindset of the individual.

My job as Cam Model Mentor often involves the soul searching of others to help them identify what’s up.

I’m always happy to share my advice and empathy. The adult entertainment industry is a difficult industry to work in and I’m on your side all the way!

As a like-minded female here I know first hand there are always barriers to overcome physically, emotionally and psychologically when you work on cam.

Ticking along on all those elements week after week requires continual self-management.

Many models find their mood elevator is up and down, or they feel confident one day and no so the next. Other models are fire for a while then things will suddenly fizzle and they lose their mojo.

Many factors affect the mood on cam. There are always things going on in the personal life that can affect how positive the mindset is for actually getting online and putting the time in.

All of these things are completely normal and you’re not alone. I am not shy to tell you I have had many ups and downs in all my years of camming.

Even times I’ve had to take a few weeks or months out to reset. So never feel bad for dropping away and focussing on YOU.

If you’re feeling lost, demotivated, burnt out or lacking desire and want to reinstate your mojo; follow these tips to help get back on track.

You will choose your day to be the best you on cam! And I will help you make it happen!

Be the best you on cam

  • Decide which day you will start working on yourself to be the best you on cam. If you choose the day allows you complete contro of your schedule, it’s all on your terms.
  • Tell yourself you will wake up that day and make it day the best day of your life. Affirm that out loud, write it down, mark it in the diary.

Tip: Plan your day for when you know you’ll be feeling well. Avoid days where you’re premenstrual, on period, or hungover.

  • Schedule in an early night the night before so you can sleep sufficiently and feel rested.
  • Wake up on the day and smile, do some stretches in bed, be mindful. Tell yourself you feel great! Today is going to be your best ever day!
  • Have a nice breakfast, ideally something healthy. Fruit, eggs, yoghurt, a non-sugared cereal, whatever you enjoy. Get some vitamin-C into your body as this ie very important. I recommend fresh fruit juice, berries or tomatoes.
  • Dress dependent on the climate to go outside and move around in the fresh air. Walk the dog if you have one, drop of the kids at their daycare/school if you have them, and go for a walk afterwards.

Top Tip: Even just 30 minutes of light exercise outdoors in the morning is so beneficial. It promotes a positive mindset and a general feeling of wellbeing.

Alternatively, you may like to go to the gym or do another form or workout that makes you feel fab.

  • Keep affirming to yourself that today is set to be your best ever day, and that you feel positive. Continually reaffirming this is good programming for the mindset to keep you on track.
  • Think through some ideas of what you would enjoy doing on cam. Have a look through your outfits and toys, feel excited about all your potential. You’re going to kill it on cam today!

I’ll share some inspiration for shows at the bottom of this article, if you need any.

  • Keep working on your positive vibe. Talk kindly to yourself and remind yourself that you’re beautiful and awesome. Be excited about working on cam! There will be many great members looking forward to seeing you!
  • Pick out an outfit that resonates with your vibe, and decide on the kind of show/s you’d like to present. Make firm decisions as this is assertive and reassuring.
  • Go through all the technical setup things and make sure your vibrator toys are popped on to charge. This article will help you work through all the things you need to check before going on cam, so you’ll feel well prepared.   • Put on some uplifting music and get ready! Remind yourself you’re an absolute stunner and you’re about to smash it on cam!

Today is the best day of your life and your badass vibe is manifesting abundance! You will have a tonne of fun and gain a heap of new fans with your sparkling positive attitude!

Sing along, chat to yourself while you get dressed and do your makeup. It might sound crazy but it really helps get into the flow!

  • Getting ready takes as long as it takes so please don’t feel under pressure. These things are best done in an environment where you feel relaxed and in harmony with everything surrounding you.

Why not light some scented candles, rearrange your room, get some nibbles or something nice to drink?

Make feel like getting ready for a nice day or night out and you will enjoy the process!

  • Now you’re in the best possible mindset to be the best you on cam! Happy, energised, with good energy all around you. You know you’re about to have the most incredible session on cam. What a buzz!
  • Need extra time to do your nails, or pop a quick call to a friend? No worries! Do what you need to do. You need to feel 100% prepared and happy that all the little jobs are out of the way. This helps declutter the mind.
  • Look in the mirror and smile at your reflection. What a beauty! You look your absolute best, and that is going to come across online. Your fans will appreciate the effort you’ve gone to and you’ll get a tonne of complements. Compliments boost confidence and make you even happier on cam!
  • Log into the site and set up your shows, tip features and anything else you would like to promote. Connect any interactive toys and put any props and things like dildos within reach.
  • Now it’s time to take the stage and say hi to your crowd! They’re delighted to see you and keen to help you be the best you on cam. Be excited to see them too.

Greet your audience with your lovely smile, tell them you’ve missed them. Let them know how excited you are about the shows you’ve planned and tell them what they have to look forward to.

Top Tip: Give a little tutorial and point out where guys can find things like tip menus. This helps new members and provides a call to action to get the ball rolling. Do this every so often when you’re online. Once per hour is sufficient.

The Covid19 game changer

Business was booming for Pink Champagne, when the Covid19 pandemic shook the world in the early part of 2020. The same way it did in almost every other country and continent, the dreaded C-word spread like wildfire in Canada.

Nobody knew how long it would go on, but the fate of strip clubs and all other social nightlife forms saw them dark and desolate for the next two to three years.

With mass shutdowns and mass panic; individuals working in these sectors were forced to explore other options.

It was a matter of doing whatever you could, just to keep your head above water.

With concerns over the future of her business amidst the Covid uncertainty, the Pink Champagne lady initially turned her hand to content creating on a major fans platform.

Thinking of starting out and want to know how to be a cam model? Here are the basics you’ll need to take the first steps towards camming success.

Before we dive in; what has triggered your desire to be a cam model?

What is the appeal about webcamming that has led you to reasearch how to be a cam model?

I would love to know your motive(s) because this is a very specific nature of work that is not for everyone.

It is your motives that have driven you down this road. So be very clear on these. They will form the basis of your work ethic, goals and motivation on your cam modelling journey.

WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVES?

Is it the money motive? The flexibility of working hours? The fact you can work from home and be your own boss?

Do you want know how to be a cam model because you can work around the kids’ routines?

Or is the thought of webcamming a confidence booster?

Perhaps you’ve already done your reasearch and genuinely want to build a career with the highest income potential in the Universe…

Whatever your motives, be crystal clear, write them down.

UNDERSTAND WHAT IS REQUIRED

NATURE OF WORK

Take the time to nderstand the nature of the work. Please read my article here for an insight into what the work of a cam model entails.

Many females sign up to cam sites and get cold feet over the nature of the work. They never make their debut appearance on cam, thus never unravelling the formula of how to be a cam model.

So to avoid being a staller, do your research first to make sure you’re totally content with the concept of sex work.

REALISTIC CAPABILITY

You’ll also need to work out the realistic capability of you being able to work on cam. Do you have enough available time to commit to making this work for you? Are you able to self-motivate and self-discipline to work?

If you’re a mother, do you have sufficient childcare in place? Are there any barriers to you working on cam?

Think about all of these things because your success hinges on your ability to get online and work.

TECHNICAL SETUP

You will next need to determine whether from a technical point of view you have sufficient internet connection and can obtain the required equipment.

CHOOSE YOUR SITE

There are many cam sites out there, that work in different ways. I wrote an article that explains the differences along with the pros and cons of private sites versus live stream sites.

Have a good old read here, consider your preferences and have a look at some of the big name sites.

Take the time to read T’s and C’s, paying special attention to each site’s Code of Conduct.

Make your informed decision on which one to apply to.

SET UP YOUR PROFILE

Do this in a professional way. Write a complimentary bio about your cam model persona with detail you want site members to know.

You can tell them about any likes and dislikes, things you’re into (sexual and non sexual) but leave out anything personal.

Never reveal your real name and location. This is for your own safety.

Make sure you have high quality images to add to your profile. This is because you’re going to have to present as a pro to get noticed amongst thousands of other cam models that members have at their disposal.

You don’t actually need professional shoot photos, you can do these self-styled (see my article), but make sure they are super.

Please leave the Snapchat filters on Snapchat, they look ridiculous and amateurish on cam model profiles.

CREATE YOUR STYLE

Have a cam model dress style in mind already? Or unsure what works? Depending on how you self-style and dress, will determine the type of members you will attract to follow, interact and spend money with you.

I cannot stress the importance of working to a schedule if you’re serious about cracking the code of how to be a cam model.

IT’S CRUNCH TIME – GET STARTED!

Please don’t be overwhelmed. Let me tell you that first day nerves is totally normal. Even in cam models who are experienced and are moving onto a new site, it can be nerve-wracking.

You have come this far, you have to take the leap of faith! Remember the motives that led to your desire to be a cam model?

BE CONFIDENT

If all of a sudden shyness or lack of confidence becomes the stumbling block, it’s ok, I got you. I’ve known published Playboy models start out on cam and feel shy.

It helps to spend some time watching other models on the site you’ve chosen to work on.

This helps you get a feel of how the site works and how models make money.

Observe other models to gain insight and build confidence, but do not imitate. It’s all about being original.

I cannot emphasise enough. ENGAGEMENT is the answer I would give if someone asked me to pick just one word to describe what makes a cam model a profitable cam model.

The vast majority of members will not be interactive on cam sites unless the model is interactive.

With no effort made on the model’s part to be interactive, people will lurk and watch as though the room as a porn tube.

ATTITUDE DETERMINES ALTITUDE

It may be stating the obvious but if you’re a person with a pleasant and agreeable nature, people will warm to you.

Having a positive attitude toward the work, the industry and the people who connect with you is how to win fans and make money.

A good attitude creates a nice vibe, one where people will feel comfortable and relaxed in the model’s company.

When people love the attitude and character of a cam model, they hang out and be the fan club. This means support through the quiet times as well as the busy times, enabling the profile and presence to grow and the cam model’s motivation to stay high.

A good attitude forms a great reputation based on which a cam model’s identity and brand can thrive!

It is only a small percentage of cam site users who are attracted to camgirls who act bratty or bitchy. Bad attitude is usually a turn off and translates to a chat room vibe that most people feel uncomfortable in.

Cam models should aways use their imagination to create shows that are interesting, exciting and keep viewers captivated.

Using a variety of outfits, looks, toys and props, and trying out different show types will make followers stay hungry and keen to see more.

If the cam model’s performances are boring and predictable they struggle to retain regular clients.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY

Last by by no means least: consistency. Consistency is a basic human character trait. It requires no prerequisite or qualification. Consistency is all about being mentally strong, focussed and resilient.

A consistent cam model is one who works every week, high self-motivated and focussed on her goals.

Lack of consistency is often the result of lack self-displine. Without consistency there is no viability as a cam model and it is impossible to make a living.

Motivation struggles are the most common issue I assist models to deal with. There is no shame, it is a very normal, very common problem that affects almost all models at some stage.
