How to get Noticed on Cam

Here is my sisterly advice to cam models on how to get noticed on cam amongst thousands of others hustling to gain the attention of tippers.

Speaking as a time-served cam model who has frequently appeared in top earner leaderboards, I know first hand how competitive this industry is.

With thousands of new cam models signing up every week, the industry is over-subscribed and always will be.

This is why for many new models, yes to build their following and get established; it is hard to get noticed.

The majority who are not destined for success on cam drop away as they do not know what they need to do in order to stand out amidst the masses.

The big, famous webcam networks have the capacity to display thousands of performers online at any one given moment. This could be 3000, 5000 or even 10000 or more live chat rooms.

Thousands of models online and granted, thousands of members online, too; however not all cam site members have the ability to me cam models’ time profitable.

There are thousands of free users (aka "lurkers") but there are also many, many good guys who spend. This includes "whales" who go hard and spend $$$$'s every week on the models who stand out.

Getting noticed by these guys who have the spending power, is always the challenge amidst the abundance of options of model chat rooms they have to choose from.

Every cam model should realise they are one of thousands of options, and be prepared to work hard to be one who stands out to these monetising members.

Here are my top three tips on how to get noticed on cam and be a model who makes bank:

#1 CREATE YOUR NICHE

STAND OUT - You take a look around the site and there are tonnes of gorgeous girls. You’re gorgeous too, but do you stand out? What makes your look different and exciting versus the next model?

STRONG IDENTITY - To make it as a successful cam model you need a strong identity. This can be a style, a vibe, a look, a particular type of show you do better than anyone else. What will become your identity?

UNIQUE PERSONA - Put some thought into who YOU want to be as a performer. What type of chat style and attitude is best suited to your personality?

TRADEMARK STYLE - Dress in a way with fabrics and colours you can make your trademark style. Are you rocking it in black lace, latex/fetish, roleplay costumes, luxury lingerie, beach babe bikinis, classy cocktail dresses, stripper style neons?

BE EXPRESSIVE - Observe yourself in the broadcasting window when you are online and pay attention to the way you speak, your expressions and the way you move around on cam. Does the way you express yourself and feel genuine and easy to keep consistent throughout your shows?

EMPHASIZE ASSETS/SKILLS - Emphasize your assets and skills. Do you have some impressive tricks you can show off? Dancing, flexibility, gymnastics, singing, ASMR, artistic flair, story telling for example. Fetish or domination chat or acts with props, porn star shows such as squirting, deep throat or hardcore are all popular skills to unleash on cam.

#2 BE IN THEIR FACE

To help you get noticed on cam and get established, make the effort to be available, and often.

Consistency is everything! You will never be a successful cam model by just popping on for an hour here and there. You have to put the time in.

This means working to a schedule so members learn when to expect you, and being reliable. Put in proper sessions, 3-6 hours or more hours at a time.

There are always going to be other models online with fierce work ethic, grinding out the hours even when it’s slow. These are the models who get noticed on cam no matter what day it is.

The resilient, persistent cam models are the ones who are successful. You’ll know who they are as they'll have mega following, and often appear in the top earner leaderboards.

Being in the face of the viewers, reminding them every week that you are there is how to get noticed on cam.

Your presence soon becomes known, you build your reputation and become established as a cam model.

If you don’t have full time hours available, it is not a problem. You can still become successful as a part-timer. It is all about consistency.

I became very successful working part time, just 16-20 hours a week on cam. I was consistent every week, working to a schedule. I put high work ethic and quality into my presentation and shows, which attracted the tipping members and build my solid base of fans and regulars.

#3 BE THE BEST MODEL ONLINE

So you have a niche you are happy with, and will commit to a schedule so you can get established quickly. Excellent work!

Those two things alone are not the complete solution, however. The next thing you need to do is focus on the quality. Quality means making every aspect appealing in order to encourage members to spend money.

QUALITY CONTROL

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE – make your style of dress, hair and makeup on point. Cam models attract their fans with their sex appeal, so think sexy, glam and fabulous to get noticed on cam.

ATTITUDE – make this positive, engaging, fun, sexy and personable and you'll build a positive reputation. Never be rude or demanding as this repels members. They'll likely give you a negative rating, troll or just not come back.

ROOM – have this well lit, decorated nicely with some touches that suit your persona, and clutter-free. This way your chat room is appealing to the eyes to the viewers and they feel relaxed to stay.

EQUIPMENT – make sure your laptop, cam, audio, stream quality is running on point. A poor quality or low definition stream never does well versus other streams that are high definition and without lag. If you need help to improve any technical aspect, speak to your site’s tech support team for advice. For the ideal camming tech setup, read this article.

EFFORT – approach every stream with good energy and enthusiasm. Be attentive and watching the screen, ready to chat to all joiners. If the energy output is flat, so will the response be.

Check all of the above elements, make sure you're doing the best you can. Don't be afraid to ask for advice from your model support team, studio, agency or experienced models you've connected with.

Welcome constructive feedback and keep tweaking and trying new things until it clicks into place and the good guys with budget notice you.

Building up as a cam model is a journey and the top tier is never reached in a day, a week or even a month. It can take a year or more to become established.

Be a cam model with a strong identity, great style, who works with consistency and puts in the effort to be a high quality stand-out prospect online! That’s how to get noticed on cam!
